WELLINGTON Cricket Club continues to fashion its 2022 season in several ways as club administrator David Derrick explains.
"It may close to the clocks changing from summer to winter time, but we are working hard on several fronts to deliver what is required for 2022 as fixtures are arranged and other plans are laid.
"We need to fill three more internally arranged matches and confirm two more and then all senior section games outside of the WEPL, SCL and KO Cup spheres are sorted; a pre-season match on an away basis is required for Saturday 9th April and our Sunday XI is looking for two non-league matches, either at home or away, on Sunday 5th June and Sunday 12th June," Derrick said.
The club has already extended an offer for two social T20 games which are being considered.
The WEPL and SCL fixtures are to be issued on Wednesday 15th December.
"Our junior section is planning for its indoor coaching programme at Court Fields School which is due to commence on Friday 7th January and will run for three hours between 5.30pm and 8.30pm each week for eight weeks for each of three distinct age groups."
The Club’s AGM for 2021-2022 takes place on Wednesday November 3 at the Clubhouse from 7.30pm and will be followed by League and Cup AGMs as the close season progresses.
