A year six cricket team have kindly been sponsored by Chris Cherry at David Collard & Co, Chartered Accountants.

On the day, the school were joined by Alfie Ogborne, Ned Leonard and Sonny Baker from Somerset County Cricket Club and would like to thank them for their support in presenting the school with their kit.

It is the first time North Town Primary School and Nursery have a cricket team.

Head teacher Mark Braund said: "I am so thrilled to see so many enjoying themselves embracing this opportunity."

Ogborne added: "I was so impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment from all children to play cricket at North Town."

Year six teacher and head coach Andrew Venning said: ‘We are so grateful for our kit sponsor and the support of our school community who have rallied together to ensure all children at North Town have the opportunity to play cricket. 

"Thanks to our sponsor, this has enabled a number of children, who once didn’t have the opportunity, to now play competitive cricket.’
