MCLAREN carried out a shakedown of their new MCL60 car at the Bahrain International Circuit yesterday, with Lando Norris happy that everything went “smoothly”.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will again be the opening round of this year's Formula 1 world championship, and the Papaya team will be desperate for a better start this year.
At the start of 2022, both Norris and Daniel Ricciardo finished a long way off the points places with their uncompetitive early-season car.
Time to unleash the power. 💪

This year, Norris will be joined by a new Aussie team-mate in the form of Oscar Piastri, who won the Formula 2 championship in 2021.
The Glastonbury racer said that the shakedown session went “as good as it could go”, adding that it was nice to be back in the car and on a track he loves.
Norris also said that it was a “super important” day for team, especially given their aim to start this season more strongly than they did last year.
McLaren's 2023 car was unveiled at the team's HQ in Woking on February 13. The Bahrain Grand Prix will be held on Sunday, March 5.
