IT WAS another busy weekend for members of Running Forever running Club, ranging from marathons to Parkrun.
Thirteen brave members participated in the notoriously hilly Giants Head Marathon which weaves its way through the Sydling and Cerne valley, and passing below the famous Cerne Giant.
Again, a really well supported event where several members of the club supported on course by providing drinks and snacks for the Bakers Dozen.
First home for the club was the ever impressive, Sam Wharton in a time of 4:37, hot on her heels was Nicola Kelly in a time of 4:44 and Andy Burgess was third in a time of 5:09. A special mention to Sally Tuer who was first in her age category with a time of 5:36.
Three club members headed over on Sunday morning to the well organized and friendly event the Martock 10k, conditions were warm for such a speedy event.
Nick Brazicliffe came home in 1st with a strong time of 42:49, followed by Ray Tutton in 43:58 and Dan Devlin smashed 4 minutes off his PB with a time of 57:49.
Twenty-three members stayed closer to home and attended the fantastic Longrun Meadow Parkrun. If you have not tried it, I would highly recommend it, it is such a welcoming environment and a great way to start the weekend.
Rob Simon was first back to the barn with a time of 19:58, followed by Caroline Arckless and Andrew Saunders. Darren Purchase ran fantastically in the still warm conditions and recorded a new PB of 23:09.
