Counties 1 Tribute Western West: Kingsbridge 28-21 Wiveliscombe
WIVELISCOMBE travelled to Kingsbridge for thier first league fixture of the 2023/24 season and played their part in a competitive game which could have gone either way.
The visitors started strongly and led 14-0 after twenty minutes.
Kingsbridge had the better of the second quarter to cross for two converted tries levelling the score at half time 14 all.
The hosts doubled their score in the second half scoring another two converted tries as Wivey were disrupted by injuries.
Despite that, the away side still had chances to win the game playing some good rugby.
They added one converted try to close the score to 28-21 at full time gaining one losing bonus point.
Tryscorers for Wivey were scrum half Richard Baker, number eight Dan Smyth Moore and winger Dan Rottenbury. Fullback Ben Luxton added the three conversions.
