Regional 2 Tribute South West: Wellington 55-14 Teignmouth
WELLINGTON Chiefs continued their strong league form at the weekend with a big home win over Teignmouth.
The match finished 55-14 and was the Chiefs third win out of four in the Regional 2 Tribute South West division.
The hosts ran away to a 24-0 lead in the first half as Ash Harney crossed for two tries, while Ollie Price and Toby Redwood picked up one each.
Two of the tries were converted by Alex Davey but it wasn't all smooth sailing as the visitors pulled a try back before the break.
In the second half, skipper Danny Lee scored a try which was converted by Davey to make it 31-7.
All before the visitors scored their second converted try of the match. However that was their final score.
Chiefs ran in four more unanswered tries to run the score up to 55-14, with Harney scoring a hattrick and a try each for Evan Greening, Redwood and Cory Jenkinson.
Wellington Chiefs now sit in fifth place in the league table and up next they take on Crediton away from home on Saturday, September 30.
