SOMERSET CCC has confirmed that Scott Hawkins, head ground’s person will be leaving the Club at the end of October.
After four years at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Scott will be taking up a new role with a Premier League football club.
Looking back on his time with Somerset, Scott said: “Reflecting on my four years here in Taunton, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have managed the grounds of a great club like Somerset. I would like to thank all the members of my team that I have worked with over the period for their commitment, effort and enthusiasm towards making the playing surfaces for all Somerset squads the best they possibly can be.
“This October will see the fourth major outfield renovation in a row, 2023 being the biggest yet to target improving the drainage and surface levels.
"This is a project that I have dedicated a lot of time to, and it will allow the outfield to perform at its best for the players, and maximise the overs bowled moving forward."
He added: “I would like to thank Gordon Hollins plus all the staff and players at Somerset County Cricket Club for their support over the last four years.”
