Tribute South West Regional Two: Newton Abbot 17-31 Wellington Chiefs
WELLINGTON Chiefs have returned to winning form after a solid victory away from home against Newton Abbot.
Corey Jenkinson scored a hattrick in the match as the Chiefs picked up the much needed and well earned win in Devon on Saturday (November 11).
Despite the poor weather during the week, the pitch held firm and in the good conditions there was some good rugby played.
Aside from Jenkinson's hattrick, there was solid displays from Toby Redwood and also Will Hodgson.
Redwood picked up a try for his efforts, as did Chris Batts while Alex Davey continued his form with the boot, kicking three conversions.
The bonus point win takes the Chiefs to seventh place in the league table, just below the halfway mark.
Up next for Wellington is a home match against league leaders Wadebridge Camels at the Athletic Ground on Saturday, November 18.
