TAUNTON Town Football Club is currently going through a rough patch having picked up just two league points since the start of October.

The Peacocks have now also gone four games in the National League South without scoring.

Since sitting atop the table not too long ago, Taunton have dropped to 15th place and searching for form.

Head of football Rob Dray has said the recent form has been disappointing, and took some responsibility for it.

"Sometimes when you are in that little period where the results aren't going for you, everybody has to stand up and be accountable," he said.

"I pick the team, and the coaching staff make the tactical decisions between us and set the shape up, but the players have got to do a little bit better I think."

Most recently, Taunton lost 1-0 away from home against Hemel Hempstead, a result which Dray said hurt.

"We have got to lick our wounds and dust ourselves down, we did some good stuff today (against Hemel), but essentially we lost the match," Dray said.

"These losses don't happen often at this club, especially not in my time at Taunton.

"The game was 0-0 written all over, both teams had good periods of possession, both teams had good chances but I would say we probably had the better of the chances over the ninety minutes.

"But one little switch off and that is all it takes in this league, very, very fine lines."

In their last four league matches, Taunton have lost 1-0 at Hemel Hempstead Town, drawn 0-0 at Chelmsford, lost 3-0 away at Bath City, and lost 1-0 at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough.

A dry spell in front of goal for the Peacocks, that is certain, but Dray wants to look on to the rest of the season, focussing on what is ahead rather than what is behind.

"But there was a lot of good things in this period, but we have to get on with it now," he said.

"There is a lot of games to come, still 30 games to play, where there is a lot of points to play for in a very, very tight, competitive league where anybody can beat anybody."

The team was due to play on Tuesday night against Truro away from home, however that game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Up next now is Welling away from home in the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday, November 18.

Dray finished by saying the focus now is on improving week on week, starting with the Welling match.

"We keep going, it's November, it is a long season, we don't finish until the end of April, we didn't get too high when we were top of the league a few weeks ago, and we won't get too low now.

"We want to win at Welling, obviously, we will be going with our best squad."
