Somerset U18 South Division: Chard RFC 10-28 Taunton Colts
Taunton Colts came away convincing winners beating a physical Chard team four tries to one, writes Hugh Duder.
Opening the scoring for the visitors was captain and right win Teddy Hobbs followed by prop Charlie Harland from forward to touch down under the posts.
At half time the score was 7-14. Into the second half and slick hands put in outside centre Rowan Sibley who was uncontested – this on 50 minutes to make it 7-21.
Taunton’s fourth try came on 75 minutes when Lovie O’Donnell crashed over for 10-28.
All four tries were converted by debutant Alfie Hodge who also picked up man of the match.
Taunton now occupy second place in the league and look one of the form teams of the competition.
Definitely a team worth following for the rest of the season as these young players continue to impress in the Somerset U18 South Division.
