PLAIN and simple, the Taunton Titans have six fixtures to save themselves from relegation from the National One Rugby division.
As it stands, the Titans are in 14th place, rock bottom, on the league table and four points away from 13th placed Bishop's Stortford.
Conveniently, that is who visits Veritas Park this Saturday, March 9 in what has been set up as a true relegation decider.
Whilst it remains possible for the Titans to climb out of the relegation places, it is growing increasingly unlikely.
Other than Stortford, the Titans have to take on Leicester Lions, Darlington Mowden Park, Sale FC, Cinderford and Blackheath.
All of those sides are mid table teams and are beatable, however if form and history is anything to go off this season, it will be a tricky task for the team from Taunton.
They have won just four matches this season from the 20 they have played, not enough to avoid the drop.
What can be said is often times they are in the games and they have been close encounters, which has seen them pick up 16 bonus points.
Amazingly if the table read as bonus points alone, Taunton would be in fifth! However that isn't the case, and that stat just highlights how the Titans have been close, but not strong enough to turn gritty games into wins.
What has been true this season though is squad rotation and too much of it. The team week to week often features wholesale changes, or changes in key positions and it appears the lack of a strong first XV has hampered the Titans.
But for now, attention turns to this weekend where kick-off for Titans vs Bishop’s Stortford at Veritas Park is at 3pm. A do or die match in essence.
Entry is £15 for adults and free for Under-16s and parking at Veritas Park on Hyde Lane costs £5 with free parking in the overflow car park across the road.
They need your support, get down and cheer on the Taunton side as they push to avoid relegation.
