National League South: Worthing 1-3 Taunton Town
TAUNTON Town earned their first league win since December last year after an impressive performance against Worthing.
The match in the National League South ended 1-3 in favour of Taunton as they shocked third placed Worthing.
The Peacocks showed toughness, belief and skill to overcome the high flying Worthing and goals from Seb Bolton, Nick Grimes and Nat Jarvis sealed the win.
Bolton was handed his first start after signing for Taunton last week and the striker opened the scoring with a fine finish on 19 minutes.
In the 39th minute Worthing were awarded a penalty when Cashman was brought down in the area but Dan Lavercombe impressively saved Pearce's penalty to keep it 0-1.
Taunton made the most of their set pieces in the second period with a Zach Bell long throw finding skipper Grimes to head home in the 65th minute to double the lead for the visitors.
And in the 77th minute Jarvis broke his dry spell in front of goal as he got across his man well and headed in a third.
Worthing did manage to pull one back in the 90th minute through Jack Wadham but it was too little too late.
The Peacocks had caused the shock of the round and deservedly travel back to Somerset with three points.
