TOM Abell scored 89 runs not out to help guide Somerset to a dramatic win over Yorkshire in the third place play off of the Abu Dhabi Counties Super Cup.
The Cidermen needed 18 off the final over which Abell and Ben Green were able to score, helping their side over the line by three wickets.
To reach the third place play off, Somerset defeated Nottingham by 28 runs after losing to Yorkshire in the opening match.
In the play off, Somerset were chasing 199 to win and lost James Rew to the second ball of the innings, but a half century stand for the second wicket between Abell and Archie Vaughan pushed them forward.
Youngster Vaughan impressed with 35 from just 28 balls before falling in the eighth over leaving Somerset 62 for two.
Josh Thomas then joined Abell and added 20 before Aldridge helped the former Somerset skipper take the total to three figures.
George Thomas (23 from 12) and Fin Hill (11 from 8) made useful contributions, but it was Abell who was the standout performer.
Ben Green joined Abell at the crease with Yorkshire still in the ascendancy, but the pair had sights set on a win.
The first ball of the final over went to the boundary, courtesy of Green, before a single was followed up by two wide balls. When the third legitimate ball of the over was eventually bowled Abell sent it to the boundary for four more.
The fourth ball was similarly dispatched by Abell and a single off the penultimate ball of the innings meant that Somerset required two off the final delivery.
Green kept his calm and smashed the ball to the rope to see Somerset take the win in dramatic fashion.
Jake Ball had impressed with the ball, claiming three for 27 as Yorkshire posted 198 for five from their allotted overs.
