AT the weekend, Taunton Town FC hosted their Egg-Travaganza event at Wordsworth Drive and it was a resounding success.
On the pitch the Peacocks were beaten by Chelmsford, but off the pitch a crowd of over 1,300 turned out to enjoy the festivities.
The day was organised by Trevor Jenkins from Coffee Blue and joining him were a number of local businesses who provided ample entertainment for families and fans of the football club.
In other off the pitch news at the club, the Taunton Town Independent Supporters Association (TTISA) held their very first fundraising event last Sunday (24th) and everyone hailed it a resounding success.
They hosted an eight-round fun quiz, and after everything was added up the total amount raised on the night was £200.
TTISA Chairman Nick Rickards was very happy, he said: “That is a brilliant amount, in fact it’s double the target we’d set ourselves!
"After the overwhelming success of this first quiz we’ve now decided to hold one on the last Sunday of every month, starting with Sunday 28 April!”
So far the TTISA has astonishingly raised more than the £8,500 target it had set itself a month ago, and has plans for more events to entertain the fans and at the same time raise more money.
