TAUNTON Town's National League South match that was scheduled to take place tonight (Wednesday, April 3) against Maidstone United, has been moved.
It will now take place at Gloucester City's stadium at Meadow Park after the pitch in Taunton failed an inspection following heavy rain.
After the Monday afternoon fixture at Wordsworth Drive it was clear that the pitch would be difficult to play on in such quick succession.
However the National League has not allowed the game to be postponed, which is why it has been moved to Gloucester.
The club said: "The pitch has unfortunately failed this morning’s inspection.
"As a result the National League has insisted that this evening’s Vanarama National League South game with Maidstone United be moved from Wordsworth Drive to Gloucester City’s Meadow Park to ensure the fixture takes place.
"This is obviously very disappointing news considering that we believed we had finally turned a corner having managed to get home games on. However on this occasion the decision has been taken out of the club’s hands.
"The club appreciates that this news comes at very short notice and we hope fans will be able to make the trip to Gloucester this evening."
