TAUNTON Town have reached the penultimate game in the National League South 2023/24 season and it really is a must win.
They host Weston-super-Mare AFC tonight (Thursday, April 18) at Wordsworth Drive, and if the Peacocks lose, they will be relegated.
A draw would keep them fighting on until the last day of the season, where they would need to defeat Hemel Hempstead by a big margin to swing the goal difference in their favour.
So, a win is required against the Seagulls. A tough ask, for sure. Last time the two sides met, Weston won 4-0 at the Optima Stadium.
Taunton are also likely to be without Dan Lavercombe as he is set to serve his suspension for his red card against Slough. There has been an appeal lodged for this so he could still play.
The match kicks off at 7.45pm and another big crowd is expected for the match as the people of Taunton are getting behind their side.
As mentioned, a win is a must in this one, and the Peacocks have shown in some games over recent weeks that they have the ability and determination to win. Can they do it again, when relegation is on the line?
