TAUNTON Titans are looking ahead to local derbies and bumper crowds as the club celebrates their 150th anniversary next season.
The Veritas Park outfit have started planning for the 2024/25 season, including with a callout to local businesses that can support the club “on any level”.
But Taunton Rugby Club are also taking time to reflect on the successes of the 2023/24 season, such as a league title for their second XV and Somerset call-ups for players in their women's squad.
The club have also thanked their supporters, sponsors and volunteers for being loud, proud and positive presences.
A club spokesperson said: “Despite The Titans gaining four wins from the final four games, they have sadly been relegated back to National League 2.
“Taunton RFC is a community rugby club, and we do not measure the success of our club through one team this season.
“Our 2nd XV the Warriors have won their league in impressive style and will be promoted.
“The ladies have gone from strength to strength with six players recently being called up to the county squad.
“We have had cup success within our junior section and have had more junior playing members than any season before.
“The club is now firmly focused on next season which will be TRFC's 150th anniversary.
“We look forward to receiving all fixtures and planning for the 2024/25 season.
“Our Titans matchday experience will remain the same with more local derbies and bumper crowds.”
Chairman John Wrelton will issue a full update ahead of the 2024/25 season as the Titans set their sights on an immediate return to the National League 1.
