BISHOPS Hull Cricket Club took a break from  league action last Saturday to remember the loss of their former player Barney Webber, who was sadly killed in Nottingham a year ago.

The club arranged a 'Barney Day' match and get-together for Bishops Hull club members and his Taunton schoolmates and any others who knew him. His parents Dave and Emma spent time at the event, which took place on Bishops Hull Playing Field.

During the course of the day that got underway at 11am, there was a round robin of T20 matches between mixed teams of friends and players.

The bar was open all day and BBQ food and cream teas were available. In addition, in the evening, there was a guitarist and singer entertaining the excellent number of people who came along to support the event.

Many who attended the event spent time talking about and fondly remembering Barney.

The whole day was also a fundraiser that will benefit the Barnaby Webber Foundation.
