Taunton and Pickeridge held their Mixed Team Open on Sunday which attracted 76 golfers from Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and all corners of Somerset.
Teams comprised of two men and two ladies, with the Betterball men’s score added to the Betterball ladies’ score.
At the end of the competition Anne Isaac (T&P), John Crane (T&P), Lin Brown (T&P) and Scott Wallbutton (Oake Manor) were the winners with 87 points.
Second place was claimed by Mike Magrath, Gill Magrath, Mike Metcalfe and Erica Klim (all Wells Golf Club) with 83 points, who were one ahead of third placed Tony Reed, Rose Jarvis, Martin Rotheram and Carole Rotheram (all T&P) with 82.
The Nearest the Pin competition on the Second (Ladies only) was won by Fran Branchflower (Cricket St Thomas), on the Eighth (Men only) by Mike Magrath (Wells) and on the 16th (All players) by Anne Isaac (T&P).
This week the Ladies section took part in the Daily Mail Foursomes competition that was win by Rosie Spragg and Louise Worth with 66, two ahead of second placed Jane Martin-Scottand Jill Jowett, while third place went to Margaret Nation and Linda Knowles with 70.
On Monday evening the Juniors took part in the Trendle Cup at the end of which it was Freddie Jarrett with 61 who was the winner, Archie Austin claimed second with 66, George Hutchings was third on 67 and Sebastian Childs fourth with 68.
The top division of the Over 55s Stableford that took place earlier this week saw two players returning to the clubhouse with 40 points, but after countback it was Andy Rhodes who edged ahead of Martin Hill to claim first place. Vince Jackson was second but only following countback that pout him ahead of Iain Brown after both scored 36 points.
Division Two was won by Chris Welsher with an impressive 42 points, three clear of his nearest challenger Roger Sweet who was second with 39, while Barry Johnson was third with 37.
T&P are looking forward to a big weekend of golf starting on Friday 12th July when they host the 32nd Annual Pro Am, which is one of the biggest events on their golfing calendar and always very well supported.
This is followed by the Club Championships on Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th July that will culminate with the Championship Presentations on Sunday afternoon at 5.30pm.
