It was a mix of old and new faces as Minehead impressed in their last-gasp draw with Bishops Lydeard.
Led by manager Craig Carr, the U18s side, largely composed of last season’s youthful U18 team and a smattering of fresh recruits, continued as they ended last season with a positive performance.
The first half was characterised by an energetic pace, culminating in The Blues getting a head start with Sam Jackson scoring five minutes before the break.
All 16 players performed notably well, matching Lydeard's highly competitive side.
The second half saw a tenacious comeback from Lydeard, succeeding in equalising late despite fine saves from Jack Harding.
The final score of 1-1 proved an accurate reflection of a what was a well-balanced and well-spirited match.
Minehead's Drew Stride earned him the Man of the Match award.
