Taunton St Andrews climbed up to sixth place in Premier One of WEPL after recording their second victory in as many weeks.

They beat Burbage and Easton Royal by 15 runs on Saturday afternoon.

After choosing to bat first at the Wyvern Club, the hosts were given a good start by Cam Harding (26) and James Rew, who hit 36.

The pair added 51 together.

Gabe Galman-Findlay, with 38, and George Thomas, who made 66 off 64 balls with three fours and six, then added 90 and took the total onto 159 for three.

Later in the order, Will Christophers with 15, and Jack Harding, who made 19, helped the Saints to end on 238 in the final over.

The visitors, who included former Somerset favourite Pete Trego in their line-up, reached 78 for three when the all-rounder walked to the wicket.

Trego then proceeded to add 66 for the fourth wicket and remained at the crease until Jack Harding accounted for him for 48.

By this time, Burbage had moved onto 196 for eight, before they ended on 223 for nine, giving the Saints victory by 15 runs.

Pick of the bowlers were brothers George and Josh Thomas, who both ended with figures of three wickets for 57 from the 10 overs they each bowled.

In the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League, the Saints Seconds travelled to Uphill Castle.

The castle, after being put in, were all out for 61 in 20.3 overs.

Graham Fitt claimed four for 22, while Justin Burke ended with three for 15.

The Saints Seconds made light work of their target and reached 63 for one in the 11th over, of which Ben Mason made 33 not out.

In Division Four of the SCL, the Saints Third XI played at Glastonbury.

The visitors were bowled out for 105 in 33.3 overs, of which openers Toby Warner made 32 and Freddie Woolcott made 23.

Matt Rivers, with five for 26, was the pick of the home bowlers.

When Glastonbury batted, they were all out for 45, with Andrew Batstone claiming four for 12 and Bradley Fawcett three for 14, giving the visitors victory by 60 runs.

The Saints B XI game with Uphill Castle Thirds was cancelled.
