Hilary Parker has emerged victorious in the top division of the Ladies Monty Banks Stableford competition at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

Ms Parker topped her league with 38 overall points, leading runner-up Sarah Blake by two points in the contest earlier this week.

The second division had an equally tight finish, with Heather Crump claiming the top spot after a countback against Nicola Fathers.

Both players scored 38 points, but Ms Crump edged out Ms Fathers in the final tally.

Linda Knowles closed out the second division, coming in third place with 37 points.

Last weekend's Minor Stableford saw Martin Short and Michael Bird in a point-for-point tie.

Both players scored 38 points, but Mr Short came ahead in the end after a countback, while Pete Lang stood third at 36 points.

On Saturday, the top division was won by Helen Hayward with 38 points, two points ahead of Simon Foster.

Mr Foster claimed second place after countback put him above Ron Brown, both participants scored 36.

In the second division, Simon Duncan led the table with 38 points, only one point ahead of second-placed Mr Short who got 37 points.

Jonathan Webster, with 37 points, came third in this category.

Chris Maggs was declared the winner in the third division with an impressive score of 41 points, John Crane followed him with 40 points and Neil Cocks scored 39 in third place.

The Taunton and Pickeridge Seniors are also on a winning streak with two consecutive victories.

The team first beat the Isle of Wedmore 6-0, followed by an away win at Enmore Park with a score of 4.5 to 1.5.

The annual Somerset Junior Golf Jamboree witnessed junior teams from seven clubs.

Despite the wind and rain, Burnham & Berrow emerged victoriously with 96 points, followed by The Mendip at 93.
