Somerset’s Migael Pretorius has been called up as a last minute replacement for the injured Gerald Coetzee for South Africa’s upcoming two match Test series against West Indies, writes Richard Walsh.
The tour gets underway with a four day warm up match against West Indies Invitation XI in Trinidad and Tobago starting on 31st July, before the Test Series begins on 9th August at the same venue.
The Second Test begins on 15th August in Guyana and is due to finish on 19th, so Migael would be available for Somerset's next championship match which is against Durham at Taunton on 22nd August.
Since joining Somerset as overseas player earlier this season Migael has taken 23 wickets and also scored 400 runs in the championship.
Migael will be the second player involved in the upcoming series who will be using a Millichamp and Hall cricket bat handmade in Taunton at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Rob Chambers the owner of M&H said: “Its great news to have another player using M&H bats and equipment at international level. Migael’s selection means that currently M&H has 11 players who are current internationals.”
