Shepton Mallet made it through to the next preliminary round of the FA Cup.
Their game on Saturday saw them secure a one-goal victory over Horndean FC.
The 1-0 win was deserved, yet hard-earned in the face of a strong opposition.
With 17 minutes into the game, Shepton Mallet's Fin Haines set up an opportunity for young Charlie Bateson, who executed a skilful shot from a tight angle.
Despite attempts from Haines and Matt Morris to score, along with Horndean nearly equalising just before half-time, the score remained the same.
As the second half kicked off, Shepton Mallet started strongly, with an interchange of passing between Haines and Ethan Witchell, setting up another opportunity for Bateson.
This effort was strategically saved by Horndean's goalkeeper, Lloyd Thomas.
In an unexpected twist, an hour into the game, Horndean's Kelvin Robinson skilfully bypassed Shepton's goalkeeper, Tom Easterbrook, yet his shot was cleared from the line by Will Banks.
The home side had a further near miss with a powerful effort from Jacob Sloggett, which was reportedly inches wide of an upright.
Despite a late siege from Horndean, Shepton's defence held firm.
At the close of the game, there was delight amongst both the team and 264 passionate fans present.
Danny Constable was named Man of the Match.
