Runners from Hyrdo Harriers have been taking part in challenging events around the south west.
Jim Shaun and Andy White were involved in the Longrun Meadow Parkrun on Saturday (August 10). Jim was the first harrier home in 28th in a time of 20 minutes and 35 seconds.
Andy White completed the 5k in 23 minutes and 25 seconds, taking 90th place from a field of 491.
Harriers’ long-distance specialist Paul Millar took on the ultra-marathon Dartmoor Crossing on Saturday.
The Crossing is a 33.5-mile ultra-distance race with challenging terrain and beautiful scenery.
The route encompasses the wilderness of the High Moor and the beauty of the periphery.
Visiting the four moorland villages of Belstone (start), Postbridge, Bellever, and Ivybridge (finish), it includes 1,119 metres of ascent and 1,516m of descent.
Out of 150 finishers, Millar took 18th place with a highly impressive finishing time of six hours five minutes and 29 seconds.
