The pitch at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium has undergone a transformation over the off season following a season of issues with the surface in 2023-24.
The Peacocks’ problems with the pitch were well documented last season, with fixture after fixture at home being postponed and Taunton having to complete games at Gloucester City.
In a bid to help alleviate this, Jordans Sports Grounds Solutions Limited were brought in to carry out an overhaul of the pitch, involving digging out the old surface, laying a base of sand and topsoil, and then reseeding a new pitch.
Fans were treated to a view of the lush new surface at the season’s opening game against Gloucester City on Saturday, August 10, with the next home game coming against Sholing on August 24.
A spokesman for the club said: “The club would like to extend a massive thanks to Jordans Sports Grounds Solutions Limited for their fantastic work over the summer on the pitch at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.”
