Taunton manager Richard Luffman’s message after a second successive away defeat was ‘don’t panic’.

The Peacocks are still searching for their first win of the season after a 1-0 defeat to Hungerford on Saturday (August 17).

Speaking after the game manager Richard Luffman said the performance was ‘much better than against Poole last time out and said they should be talking about a first win of the season.

He said: “We wanted to go a bit aggressive….we knew it was going to be physical battle down here and we stood up to it really well.”

“(We’re) Really disappointed because anyone who was here today would see that this is a really good team we’ve put together here and we’re not that far away.”

This comes on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Poole and a 3-3 draw at home to Gloucester City when they were 3-0 up at one point.

Luffman said: “We’ll be absolutely fine – we’ve got some good games coming up at home, we’ve got some teams that we think that we can compete against and pick good points up.

“The message to the players was don’t panic. I certainly feel that we are close to being a very good team at the level, we’ve got to get Owen Brain  back in the team and we’ve got to start taking our chances.”
