Taunton Town has announced two new signings as Jayden Nielsen joins from Bristol Manor Farm and Aysa Corrick from Cribbs.

Both new faces were in the Peacocks’ squad for their home fixture against Sholing on Saturday (August 24). Both came on as subs in the 1-1 draw.

Highly rated midfielder Jayden is a former Bristol City apprentice, going on to join Brislington upon his release before linking with Bristol Manor Farm, initially on dual registration.

Jayden said: “I’m delighted to sign for Taunton Town. I can’t wait to get started and meet the fans and players and experience the atmosphere the fans bring on match days.”

Taunton manager Richard Luffman is pleased to finally secure his target, saying: "Jayden and I spoke a lot in the summer, and I was gutted to see him join Frome as they took a player I was really keen on.

"Arguably he was their best player in pre-season, so much so they were desperate to take him back when we moved to acquire him from Manor Farm.

"Jayden openly admitted that we were his preference in the summer and was gutted we didn’t get anything agreed which is completely on me but better late than never. We’ve got a great prospect who can help us short and long term.”

Aysa has gained extensive experience with several clubs over the past decade and previously featured for the Peacocks during pre-season in 2018-19. His former sides include Mangotsfield United, Gloucester City and Yate Town who he left to join Highworth Town where he notched 46 goals in the 2016-17 campaign and was named Hellenic Player of the Year. Since then he has featured for Evesham United, Larkhall Athletic, Paulton Rovers plus a second spell at Yate.

Aysa said: “When Luffers (Richard Luffman) called me last week and said he’d be keen on taking me to Taunton I knew it was the right thing to do. I’ve played under some good managers, but Luffers is the best as he knows how to get the best out of me and also a club the size of Taunton you don’t say no to. I’ve had a lot of offers but I’m glad I said no so I was available to join Taunton.”

The Town boss added: "Aysa is a powerful and tricky player who will no doubt be a great addition to our squad. He’s an experienced player who has won league titles and always played for top teams. I’ve worked with Aysa before and although he’s a big personality who takes some managing, he’s also a great bloke who the boys will love.”
