Congratulations to the Ladies Section at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club who have retained their crown by winning the league title again this year.
Ladies Captain Emma Smith and her team then went and recorded a resounding 6.5 - 0.5 victory over Enmore at Cricket St Thomas to reach the final of the of the Roger’s Cup again
The grand final of the Rogers Cup will be played at Bath Golf Club in September.
There has been More success for T&P, with the Senior Hawks who in their first season have won the Division Three of the Avalon Senior League, while the first team have finished a creditable 2nd in the First Division. This means that both teams have qualified for finals day to be played at Tall Pines near Bristol next month.
Well done to the T&P Senior team of players led by Tim Paris took part in the Senior Enmore Stag last Friday resulting in a fine winning performance by the team, getting the better of sides from 13 other clubs.
The T&P Bucks team who play in Division Six of the Avalon League came a creditable third playing against strong teams above them. During the season 22 members had the chance to represent the team so many thanks are due to Mark Hexton for organising the team.
Unfortunately the Senior Somerset Bowl team lost 2-3 in their semi final against Cricket St Thomas at Worlebury, but they will be trying for that title again next year.
The top division of Saturday’s Goodman Cup saw two players tie on 1 but after count back it was Ian Clare who was the winner with Simon Foster was second. Ian Bowidge was third on count back from Dan Keitch, who edged into fourth also on countback after both scored -2.
The first division saw Kevin Gidley as the clear winner with 5, one head of second placed Kevin Pellow with 4, while David Riches was third on count back with 3.
James Lindsay was the winner In Division Three with 5, Eric Nevill was second with 4 while Ian Case claimed third on count back with 2.
Sunday’s Minor Medal was won by Pete Lang but only after count back had put him in front of James Roy Hunt after both returned with 69. Two players scored 70 but after count back it was Nigel Gridley who was third and Chris Maggs who was fourth.
Two players returned on 41 points at the end of the Bank Holiday Stableford on Monday but after count back it was Steve John who claimed first place just ahead of second placed Simon Squire while third place went to Daren Carter with 40.
