Lewis Moody the former England Rugby Captain and 2003 World Cup winner  is joining the coaching team at King’s College in Taunton and will commence his role at the start of the new term.

Moody who started his club rugby career with Leicester before joining Bath is vastly experienced with the game at the top level . He played in two World Cup Finals, won two Six Nations Championship Winners Medals, two Heineken Cup Winners Medals and seven Premiership Winners Medals. 

Moody will be taking over as the forwards specialist coach and in addition to working with the First XV will be involved with all the age group teams.

Ed Lewsey who is the Director of Rugby at King’s said: ‘Lewis has done it all as a professional player and we are delighted that he has agreed to work with our players and coaches at King’s, 

“Lewis ran a coaching clinic for the boys and girls at both King’s College and King’s Hall in the summer term with which we were really impressed, so we are absolutely delighted to have him coming to join with us as a member of our coaching team.

“He is really engaging, gets on well with people and of course he has got a wealth of rugby experience to share with our young rugby players. I am sure that his impact across the teams will be profound and we can’t wait for him to get started’ 

The Director of Rugby added: “Lewis will be our senior forwards coach and we will deploy him across all the teams so everybody gets the benefit of his expertise.”

Over the years King’s College, Taunton, has developed a strong tradition of sporting excellence and has produced many who have gone onto represent their country including cricketer Jos Buttler and hockey player Maddy Hinch.
