On Saturday over 180 players took part in the Professionals Day Stableford competition at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club at the end of which Ali and Ian McGown were the winners on countback from Scott Saquire and Keith Ford after both scored an impressive 47 points.  Third place was claimed by Andy Thomas and Matt Tiley with 45 points.

Curtis Edwards with 40 points was the winner in the top division of Sunday’s Stableford four clear of second placed Dan Keitch with 36, while Martin Short claimed third on 35.

Geoff Dight headed the second division with 36 after countback put him ahead of second placed Michael O’Neill. Third place went to Nigel Gridley on countback from James Julyan after both returned with 35.

Kevin Parker was the winner in Division One of Monday’s Over 55s Stableford with 36 but only after countback edged him ahead of David Parker who returned with the same score. Tony Reed was third on countback from Brian Trickey after both carded 35 points.John Gardiner with 39 points was the clear winner of division two with 39 points, Bill Maginn was second ahead of Paul Parnham on countback after both scored 37.

On Tuesday the T&P Ladies played in the Eric Wright Betterball Medal  a team event that was won by Sharon Davies and Georgia Richards with 64.This was a fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation and a donation of £28.00 will be made to them in due course.

Last week it was the Ladies Captains Charity Day in aide of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance at the end of which in Division One the winner with a nett score of 67 was Terina Parker, while in Division Two it was Lyn Gridley who claimed the honours with 70. 

Emma Smith this years Lady Captain hosted a past Ladies Captain’s Lunch and Competition, the winner of which was Anne George (Captain in 2022 ) and the runner up was Jill Paul ( Captain in 2014).

T&P Seniors haave enjoyed mixed fortunes and after an excellent competitive match with Minehead at home with an honourable draw, 3 games each they travelled to Lyme Regis where the weather and course were great but unfortunately the result was a comprehensive defeat from a very strong home team 5.5 to 0.5 points.

Earlier this week the annual Seniors Past Captains competition took place which was won by Martin Moore.

The T&P Juniors took part in the adult/junior Matthew Trott Trophy, named in memory of a former Junior golfer at T&P. The winner of this pairs better ball stableford were made up of Zac Janes and Paul Thorogood with a score of 40, beating Alfie Sully and Jim Guest on count back.
