After a Tom Smith hat-trick brought Taunton Town back from the brink of FA Cup elimination to Poole Town they have now discovered their opponents for the next round of the competition.
Three second-half goals from Smith overturned a 2-0 deficit for The Peacocks on the weekend and sent them through to the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Fa Cup where they have now been drawn at home to Amersham Town.
Amersham currently play in the Premier Division North of the Combined Counties Football League and sit in 8th position, 37 places below Taunton in the football league.
The Peacocks will be hopeful of their chances given their elevated league status in comparison to their Buckinghamshire based opponents, however, Amersham will be looking to their current good form into the knockout game, which kicks off later this month.
They have only lost two of their 11 games so far this season and have scored 34 goals across those fixtures showing that, despite the gap in league standing, they will be a handful during their trip down to Somerset.
The 3rd Qualifying Round match up is scheduled for September 28th, kick-off 3:00pm, at Taunton’s Cygnet Healthcare Stadium.
