Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club recently hosted the Annual Musgrove Charity Cup from which all profits will be donated to the League of Friends Musgrove Robotic Surgery Appeal.
The event attracted a strong field of 52 pairs and, despite inclement weather conditions for the early players, there was some high scoring.
Two pairs returned on 45 points but after countback it was John & Suzanne Parsons who were the winners just edging ahead of second placed Peter & Georgia Richards.
Three pairs came back with 44 points so once again countback was called upon to sort the places out following which Jonathan Parish & Chris Clare were third, Andrew Pickering & Peter Widdicombe, fourth and Gary Wide & Dan Barnes were fifth. Sixth place was claimed by Mark Coleman & Sue Ensell with 42 points on countback.
Graham Johnston won the Nearest the Pin contest on the second hole, Stephanie Bristow at the 6th, Jasper Gill at the 8th hole and, Oli Larkman at the 16th.
The Annual competition for the Past Captains’ Niblick took lace at the weekend at the end of which the winner for a third time, was 2016 Captain John Snell with 38 points four ahead of second placed Phil King with 34.
On Tuesday the Ladies Section played in the Autumn Medal in which Terina Parker with a gross score of 87 was the winner of in Division One was also wins The Club Cup.
The Eileen Green Cup for the best Division 2 gross score was won by Sarah Gamble with a score of 94.

The Ladies also completed the Summer Eclectic which was won by Jackie Pike with a “best score” of 56 points.
T&P Seniors entertained their East Devon counterparts in a friendly match at the end of which it was the home team who won the game 4-2.
The Junior Section were in action at the weekend when they took a team of six to Exeter GC to play in a regional qualifier of The Junior Team Golf Home Nations Championship, which was a singles strokeplay format with the team score being a total of the best Gross and next four best nett scores. The 6th player’s score only counted in the event of a tie.
T&P were competing against a team from Saunton Golf Club to determine who would go forward to the South West Regional Final at Royal North Devon GC on 13th October and at the end of the day it was T&P Juniors who were the winners of this qualifier.
