Home wins are like buses for Taunton Town, you wait for one to come along a second follows shortly after.

Now that the Peacocks have shown they can win at home, the victories are coming thick and fast with another success at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium against Swindon Supermarine.

Taunton were able to defeat their Wiltshire opponents with goals from Tom Purrington, Tom Smith and Aysa Corrick and the Peacocks are now just three points outside the play offs at this early stage in the season.

Manager Richard Luffman only made one change from the victory over Marlow on Saturday (September 21) with Hodgson coming in for Down. The match also saw former Taunton player Dave Sims-Burgess turn out for Swindon Supermarine.

The Peacocks made a fast start and they were rewarded on 14 minutes when Tom Purrington was able to slot home.

The home side maintained control of the match throughout the first half and went into the break deservedly in front.

They continued that momentum into the second half and less than a minute had been played when Owen Brain hit the post.

Taunton Town’s fans did not have to wait long for the second goal though as scorer of the first goal, Tom Purrington; was brought down in the penalty box. This gave skipper Tom Smith the chance to convert from the spot which he did.

Nine minutes later Taunton added to their lead and the Cygnet Health Care Stadium faithfuls must have wondered how many they would score. It was Aysa Corrick scoring the third.
