Minehead rounded off September with their fourth consecutive away league win, narrowly defeating Saltford 2-1.

Despite missing five squad members, they dominated the match from the start.

Centre forward Toby Waghorn tested Saltford's goalkeeper Sam Murphy with three early shots, all of which were effectively saved.

Murphy, however, struggled with a powerful drive from Will Singleton-Voss, which he only managed to parry.

The ball nearly crossed the goal line before a defender cleared it.

Minehead continued to threaten, with Sam Jackson's cross just eluding Josh Elston, and a long-range effort from captain Stefan Phillips being saved by Murphy.

Saltford then found their rhythm and took the lead with a glancing header from Jamie Smithies, which beat Minehead's Jack Harding seven minutes before half-time.

Minehead quickly equalised in the second half.

Just four minutes after the restart, Josh Elston, with a deft shot from the edge of the box, beat Murphy, marking his fourth goal in as many games.

After Minehead's Bertie Harvey-Larmar, the standout defender of the match, was controversially booked, Toby Waghorn put Minehead ahead with a well-placed header from a perfect cross by Scott Kivell.

Despite Saltford's late efforts to find an equaliser, Minehead managed to preserve their lead.

This victory keeps Minehead's 100 per cent away league record intact, propelling them to a commendable sixth position in the league.

They are now five points behind leaders Congresbury, with two games in hand.

Minehead has played fewer games than all the clubs above them.

Bertie Harvey-Larmar was named Man of the Match for his outstanding defensive performance.
