Somerset’s Archie Vaughan and Thomas Rew have been named in the 18-player squad which has been selected for an England Men U19s training camp in South Africa.
The squad will train in Stellenbosch from November 25th to December 16th as preparation for the upcoming series against South Africa Men U19s in January and February 2025.
Jack Home (Worcestershire) and Aaryan Sawant (Middlesex) are the only players within the group who have not yet represented the Young Lions. Tazeem Ali (Warwickshire), Jaydn Denly (Kent) and Eddie Jack (Hampshire) are the three players to have travelled overseas with the U19s previously.
Young Lions regulars Farhan Ahmed (Nottinghamshire), Hamza Shaikh (Warwickshire) and Harry Moore (Derbyshire) are not available as they have been called up to the England Lions Development Camp, which is also in South Africa, from 20 November to 14 December.
England Men U19s Head Coach, Mike Yardy, said: “It’s an exciting winter for this group of players. Firstly, a training camp to develop individual skills and be very clear on a style of play. This is then followed by a competitive series versus South Africa in both white and red ball cricket.”
