ISCA 2s 4 - 0 Minehead 1sts

While Minehead put up a strong resistance, it was the opposing team that scored the first goal of the match - writes Kate Lancaster.

The away side maintained an organised defence, with Jess Koppa and Molly Rucklidge executing many effective clearances to the right wing.

Minehead also implemented well-rehearsed tactics, launching attacks on both wings, which, although ultimately unsuccessful, prevented Isca from taking control.

Minehead secured their only short corner of the game, but sadly Zöey Cape's powerful strike from the top of the D was knocked wide by an Isca defender.

Later, another offensive effort by Minehead resulted in a goal, bringing the halftime score to 2-0 in favour of the opposition.

Despite a motivational halftime talk and impressive plays by midfielders Gemma Chilcott and Sarah Hayes, Isca managed to score two more goals shortly into the second half.

Nonetheless, Minehead continued to defend loyally, thwarting every opposition short corner and minimising the impact of their defeat while keeping positive morale.

Goalkeeper Janice Weetch made several outstanding saves and directed her defence effectively, keeping the final score at 4-0.

The Rocking Horse Cafe player of the match was Jan Weetch, whose remarkable saves significantly reduced the potential tally of Isca's goals.
