Wiveliscombe Rugby Club's first team secured a hard-fought victory against Bideford.

Despite Bideford leading 3-0 at half-time, tries from winger Dan Rottenbury and full back Will Thorne, plus a successful penalty from flyhalf Charlie Sharland, pushed Wiveliscombe ahead.

Bideford were awarded a penalty try in the final moments, but Wiveliscombe's first team managed to hold their lead, finishing 13-10.

The win places them fourth in the Western Counties League.

The second team also celebrated success, maintaining their unbeaten record with a 33-14 victory over Yeovil.

This win keeps the second team at the top of their league, marking a notably successful season for the West Somerset side.

Both Wiveliscombe teams will not have any senior league games next week.

The first team will next play Barnstaple's second team away on November 30, while the second team will face Burnham On Sea's second team at home.
