Somerset's U16s battled to a thrilling draw in their championship clash against Gloucestershire.
The match took place at Bridgwater & Taunton College as part of the Southwest County Schools' U16 Men's Championship.
Zack Holcombe's relentless pressing of a back pass led to Somerset taking an early lead, with Woody Cole striking cleanly from outside the box, making it 1-0.
However, Somerset's control was short-lived as Gloucestershire were gifted an equaliser, bringing the score to 1-1.
The game then saw Gloucestershire scoring a second goal, leaving Somerset trailing 1-2.
Despite some good saves from Somerset's goalkeeper, the team managed to regain their composure and create several chances before the break.
In the second half, Somerset changed their shape and pressed for an equaliser.
This effort paid off when Evan Chappell headed home a well-placed pass from Toby Snelling, making the score 2-2.
Somerset then found themselves in a strong position but were dealt a setback after an uncharacteristic error in their defence allowed Gloucestershire to take the lead again, making it 2-3.
Undeterred, Somerset continued to push for the next goal.
After a series of near misses, Woody Cole scored a free kick from an acute angle, bringing the teams level at 3-3.
Somerset's Dimi Athanasiou and McAdams then combined well as the defence, including Turner, Nairn, Lowe, Stirling, and Turrell, held firm.
Despite chances for both sides, the match ended in a well-deserved draw.
Both sets of supporters were treated to an exciting game with plenty of action and goals.
