Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club held their annual presentation of awards on Saturday evening, which began with 60 members and guests enjoying the traditional prizegiving carvery - writes Richard Walsh.
During the evening, over sixty trophies were presented, and master of ceremonies David Parker congratulated all the winners on their successful season.
Special mention was given to Rosie Spragg and Louise Worth, who reached the round of last sixteen in the Daily Mail Foursomes national competition.
The club championship winners were:
Men’s gross – Alistair Hess Men’s nett – Christopher Mags Ladies’ gross – Helen Hayward Ladies’ nett – Marion Mittermaier Senior gross – Tony Reed Senior nett – David Clarke Junior gross – Ben Newman Junior nett – George Hutchings
After three years, Berni Hatcher and Jan Hill have stepped down from their role as junior organisers.
To acknowledge the time and dedication given by the "dynamic duo," the junior section presented them with gifts of flowers, wine, and chocolates.
Kevin Gidley was the clear winner of last week’s Stableford competition with 38 points, five clear of his nearest rival Frank Kirkham, while Robert Criddle was third on countback with 32.
Last week’s ladies bowmaker was won by Heather Crump, Lin Brown, Sarah Blake, and Jackie Pike with 75, six ahead of Georgia Richard, Terina Parker, Sharon Davies, and Ali McGown, who returned with 69.
Third place was claimed by Lennox Heath, Liz Cutler, Rosemary Pocklington, and Stephanie Bristow, who scored 67.
