SOMERSET'S cricket team are looking to begin their 2025 Vitality Blast with a bang after the official schedule is released.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will take on Surrey as part of an explosive doubleheader at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Friday, May 30.

A replay of last year’s final will see the men’s team welcome Gloucestershire to Taunton on Friday, July 18 - with the Bristol-based clash between the two sides taking place on Friday, June 13.

Somerset Women will be looking to reach Vitality Blast Finals Day at the Kia Oval on Sunday, July 27, in their inaugural season as a professional team, whilst the men will be seeking to reach a fifth successive Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday, September 13.

Somerset County Cricket Club will be in the South Group next season.

The South Group includes Essex, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Hampshire Hawks, Kent Spitfires, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex Sharks, and Surrey.

The Vitality Blast men's competition Finals Day (Edgbaston) will be held on Saturday 13 September, and we may see Somerset there this year.

Somerset was unlucky last year, finishing runners-up in The Vitality Blast in a match against Gloucestershire in September 2024.
