Taunton Town’s long home unbeaten run was ended on Saturday (November 30) as they were beaten by Chertsey Town.
The visitors raced into a two goal lead early on and despite equalising, Taunton Town conceded the winner within a minute of getting level.
The Peacocks are now 14th in Southern League Premier South, with a record which shows how inconsistent they have been this season – five wins, six draws, five defeats, 27 goals scored, 27 goals conceded.
Ahead of the game, Taunton Town were boosted by the news that former captain Nick Grimes had returned to the club and he was the only change from their 1-1 draw with Wimborne as he replaced Jack Matthews.
The first chance for Taunton came five minutes in as Aysa Corrick plays a cute ball through to Owen Brain to run on to, but his placed shot only hits the side netting.
The hosts got a warning of what was to come on 11 minutes when a Chertsey forward got in behind buy Josh Gould was able to block.

Four minutes later the visitors did score when a right-wing cross found Jack Mazzone who scored the first of what would be a hattrick for the Chertsey forward.
On 23 minutes it was 2-0 to the visitors as a simple ball through the middle of the Taunton defence found Mazzone who fired it into the top corner.
Taunton Town started to show signs of life as the half hour came with Corrick flashing a cross-come-shot across the goal and Toby Down heading over the bar from the corner.
Some 120 seconds later, Taunton were back in it as Jayden Nielsen twisted and turned on the edge of the area and hit a low shot which evaded the Chertsey goalkeeper to find the bottom corner.
At half time Taunton Town had recovered but still trailed by one.
The Peacocks started the second half with a high tempo and Owen Brain had a shot from 25 yards out which flew over the bar.
On 54 minutes Taunton Town were level as Owen Brain went up for a back-post cross and the ball ended up in the net, either from Brain or the defender challenging him.
Taunton Town’s joy was short lived however, as the home side failed to clear a corner effectively and the ball end up at the back post and Mazzone scored his third goal.
The Peacocks pushed for the equaliser but Chertsey looked very dangerous on the break away.
Chances were few and far between for Taunton in the second hald. On 66 minutes Jayden Nielsen had his left-foot shot go harmlessly wide and late on Jay Malshanskyj combined well with Aysa Corrick but his shot was straight at the Chertsey goalkeeper.
