TAUNTON are set to name their new player-coach.
The club have received a number of applications for the position vacated by Kevin Powderly but appear to have found their man.
"It's a matter of trying to crack a deal now," said club president Jack Matthews.
"We have got someone who fits the bill but there are a few things to sort out on both sides before anything can be finalised.
"He was a professional for a number of years and, more recently has been playing in a higher league than ourselves."
Meanwhile, a total of 44 players have attended Taunton's opening two training sessions with back row forward James Anderson, who played in South-West One for Oxford Harlequins last season among them.
