A 44TH minute penalty from Alex Piper saw Taunton Town to a 1-0 victory at Barnstaple Town on Thursday night.
Piper's second pre-season goal was enough to see off the North Devon outfit who play in the Premier Division of the Toolstation Western League.
Players now have just one friendly left to impress manager Gary Domone before he selects a squad of 16.
That is on Saturday away to Bridgwater Town for the annual Brainwave Cup match.
