HAVING been particularly pleased in the numbers at pre-season training this season, Minehead Football club were not expecting the shock resignation of reserve team manager Paul Harrison.

Harrison cited work commitments as the reason behind his decision.

With home reserve team friendlies arranged for Wednesday, August 22 against Exmoor Rangers and the following Wednesday (Aug 29) against Milverton, the club are hoping that first team manager Robbie Hopkins and assistant Paul Newbold will be able to look after the team until a new manager is appointed very swiftly.

Club chairman Brian Walder said: “The numbers and the quality of the players who have been involved so far this season have been really encouraging but Paul’s unfortunate timing has knocked us to say the least.

“The players need to know who is going to be in charge, but we can’t just pull a manager and everything that goes with the running of a team out of thin air.”

Anyone interested in becoming the new manager is urged to contact Brian Walder on 01643-706850 as soon as possible to arrange an informal meeting.
