Minehead LTC have held a Junior LTA-sanctioned tournament over two days.
The tournament, which was sponsored by Cranmer’s Optometrists, was split into three age groups and attracted young players from Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Taunton.
All age groups competitions were played on a round-robin basis, giving players as much match experience as possible, and the clubs new all-weather courts coped well with the slightly damp conditions.
Results: Under 12 boys: winner Alex Tomlinson (Minehead); runner up Jasper Pye (Minehead).
Under 16 girls: winner Pearlian Cipriano (Taunton); runner up Campbell Bradley (Minehead).
Under 18 boys: winner Max Kilham (Ilfracombe); runner up Ryan Masterton (Barnstaple).
n As a way of celebrating Olympic medals for Andy Murray and Laura Robson, Minehead are offering free membership until the end of September.
