Taunton RFC provided a five-day feast of rugby action, fun and quality tuition for Taunton youngsters at two coaching clinics delivered by the club during the school holidays.

The week saw the return of the annual mini/midi summer camp run by TRFC’s youth section for children aged five to 12.

Mike Taylor said: “We have again had a great response from young players from all over the community with many new faces joining us for the first time.

"The summer camp is an excellent introduction to get youngsters back into the run of things prior to the start of the season on Sunday, September 2."

The aim of the camp is for the children to have fun and at the same time develop their rugby skills, including passing, tackling, kicking and many other elements of the game.

This year has been a success with over 40 children attending each of the three days.

Volunteers run the camp from the Taunton Rugby Club youth coaches, who are ably assisted by young players from the U14s, U15s and U16s.

Future camps will see closer links with members of the Taunton Titans playing and coaching staff joining the team to bring even more skills coaching to the children attending.
