Taunton St Andrews' number three Rob Contreras was clean bowled by Craig Rice just three runs short of an excellent century at Ilminster on Saturday in Premier One of the WEPL.

His superb knock of 97, coupled with a decent score of 66 from opener Lloyd Alley, helped the Saints to a decent total of 242-6 from their 50 overs.

The Saints needed 44 overs to dismiss Ilminster for 135 with the wickets well distributed among the bowling attack.

Jacob Lintott took 3-25 including the key wickets of former Somerset men Sam Spurway and Rayner Blitz. Lloyd Alley had struck first, however, with the prized wicket of opener Louis Kraucamp for two.

None of the rest of the Ilminster line-up really troubled the scoreboard with Tom Radley taking 3-20 and Rob Contreras 2-15 as Saints rattled up a 107-run victory.

Taunton St Andrews are away at Downend on Saturday.
