ANDREW Raymond Clark and Nick Taylor steered Lydeard home to an important six-wicket victory at Ilton on Saturday in the Somerset Division of the WEPL.

Ilton won the toss and elected to bat and were bowled out in the 49th over for 171 with only Nat Price with 52 really troubling the scoreboard.

Brian Stone with 3-17 made the early inroads and then Ilton fell from 130-4 to 171 all out with Graham Fitt claiming 5-27.

Lydeard were on 87-4 before Clark (65no) and Taylor (53no) steadied the Lydeard ship and took them to victory after 36 overs with four wickets in hand.

Lydeard are at home to Uphill Castle on Saturday.
