Wellington Bowling Club ladies have been victorious once again in their home and away games against Minehead.

Esther Twose, Ann Cowling (pictured), Brenda Wilson and Pam Darch won comfortably on their home green 21-14, while Ann Lovell, Betty Dixon, Winn Courtney and Thelma Helps came away with an emphatic away victory 32-15.

Wellington B continued their successful run with a good but close win over Street B away. Nick Channon, Stuart Troake, Bob Clarke and Fran Marshal led the way with a three shot win over their Street opponents. Vernon Adams’ men also won by just three shots 21-18 and although Roland Bath’s side lost out 20-21, the overall score was 60-55 to Wellington.

Wellington enjoyed a two-all draw against Minehead in a mixed friendly match. Dennis Courtney’s team had a good win 22-16 as did Derek Lane’s quartet 20-16. Roland Bath’s team went down in a close battle 13-16 and Bob Codd’s foursome could only manage 12 shots to Minehead’s 25.

The mixed friendly against Watchet which followed went Watchet’s way for the most part. Roger Peddle, Bob Clarke, Winn Courtney and Keith Horwood managed a 19-16 victory and Diana Harrison’s quartet came close 17-18.

The two remaining rinks went strongly in Watchet’s favour 24-13 and 31-12.
